Campus History

The McKamy family has a rich history in settling the land in parts of Collin, Denton and Dallas Counties. In the 1850’s, the family established a home in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch area. Known for his love of the land, McKamy helped make the Carrollton-Farmers Branch area a thriving farming community. McKamy Elementary is constructed on 15 acres of the family’s farmland and opened its doors to students in 1992.
